Installing SELITFLEX® AquaStop
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
Please note before installation: check the base in accordance with CEN/TS 14472 and make sure the quality of the base is suitable for proper processing. In general, the substrate should be clean, flat, dry, resistant to tension and pressure and should not contain any substances such as plasticizers, solvents or other diffusing substances. It is necessary to ensure that the substrate is in a state of equilibrium moisture and that the CM value is below 2.0% (for cement screed) or below 0.5% (for anhydrite screed and anhydrite liquid screed). As binding instructions, it is necessary to follow the instructions of the floor covering manufacturer.
- Thoroughly clean the substrate with a broom or vacuum cleaner. Completely remove existing glue and paint residues.
- Along the entire width of the room, first lay the first sheet of the installation mat with the foil side up, while cutting off the overlap in the area of the connection to the wall.
- To protect against moisture, vapor-tightly seal any sides using SELITstop® aluminum sealing tape.
- To protect against moisture, seal the wall connection area with a stable and pre-shrunk SELITstop® Molding Protection Belt
- Lay the floor in the same direction as the substrate. Do not stress the pad; if necessary, place a laminate board under your knees/feet to spread the load.
- Repeat steps 2 through 5 until the entire room is laid. Seal the individual layers of the mat with an overlap and adhesive tape. Seal any other joints vapor-tight with aluminum sealing tape.
